You know that feeling when you wake up every morning and go to work with a huge smile on your face and in the best of moods? That moment when you realize it’s 11pm and you’re still working, time flew by and you still have items left on your to-do list, but it’s all ok because you love what you do? Well, that’s exactly how my life is.
I work behind the scenes of what truly inspires me: fashion. Fashion actually runs in my family's veins: my father, his father and the father of his father were all at some point involved in the fashion retail business. When I was a child, my favorite time of the week was when I got to visit my father's office. He would take me on his daily tour of the headquarters, starting form the warehouse all the way up to the atelier, stopping quickly by the marketing and admin offices.
My favorite spot was the designer's corner. Magazine cutouts, pantone colors, patterns, textures, spec sheets, photo references, all hanging on the walls as a huge disorganized collages that somehow ended up making sense. Samples of new collections and best sellers of previous collections piled up on long work tables. Mannequins with styled outfits ready to move forward to the next section of the big room: the studio. I felt like I was born to be part of that world. There were so many things that inspired me at the creative corner that I had a hard time deciding who to hang around with: the designers, the photographer, the planners, the marketers...
At that time everything was quite uncertain for me, but there was one thing I was sure about: I wanted to be part of it. Since that day, I dedicated myself wholeheartedly to pursuing my passion. I worked tirelessly, taking on any job that came my way. From serving coffee to ironing clothes in stores, I embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. It was through those beginnings that I developed the skills and work ethic that would make me a great fashion stylist.
I look back on those days now with gratitude, knowing that the journey I embarked on was not easy, but it was worth it. The challenges and experiences I encountered along the way shaped me into the person I am today. They taught me resilience, determination, and the importance of hard work. And as I reflect on my journey in the world of fashion, I am proud of how far I have come and excited for the future that lies ahead.
